2008 INBF Capital City Naturals-Journal from July 12th 2008
What a great day!! I will have nothing but good memories of July 12th 2008. My first INBF show and I came away with the Middleweight win. I am so blessed. I know guys that compete year after year and can barely break the top 3 so I consider myself so lucky that God not only gives me the desire and passion to give 100%, but the genetics and support group to go along with the work ethic. Here is how the day went
5am - Potato chips made from 7oz raw potato, 1 scoop VP2, 2 Tsp Liquid K, 5g GL3, 5g Creatine, 500mg Vit B6, 1g Vitamin C, 3 L2 Tabs. Applied another coat of Jan Tana
6am - Potato chips made from 7oz raw potato, 1 scoop VP2, 2 Tsp Liquid K
7am - Potato chips made from 7oz raw potato, 1 scoop VP2, 2 Tsp Liquid K
8am - Steamed Potato made from 7oz raw potato, 1 scoop VP2, 2 Tsp Liquid K
8:30am - Left for Sheldon High School.
9:00am - 2 Tsp Liquid K. I was shocked when Tina started taking Roll Call.
10:00am - Potato chips made from 7oz raw potato, 1 scoop VP2, 2 Tsp Liquid K, 2 oz cooked red beef. This was nice Bananas, grapes, water, Red Bull, towels, all provided. Jamie had just run a 5k and did not bring any food. I had to run some grapes, a banana, some VP2 and some steak out to her.
11:00am - 2 Tsp Liquid K
12:00pm - Potato chips made from 7oz raw potato, 1 scoop VP2, 2 Tsp Liquid K, we added some more Jan Tana here for some really dark color.
1:00pm - 2 Tsp Liquid K
1:25pm - Potato chips made from 7oz raw potato, 1 scoop VP2, 2 Tsp Liquid K, I only had about 1/3 of a gallon of water to this point. I wanted to have a little extra water for pumping up before prejudging, but not exceed 1/2 a gallon. Started applying the Muscle Sheen to my skin. This was honestly the best my color ever looked. I had to call Jamie and thank her for all her help. I felt like crying as I talked to her.
1:45pm - all sheened and pumping up. I wished the other competitors good luck and told them the time had come to give it our all. Squeeze the muscles until they cramped.
2:00pm - headed on stage for prejudging. I was contestant 49 and was second from the end. The judges moved two of the competitors, but they kept me right in the middle. They worked us for about 15 minutes and I worked about as hard as I ever have on stage. I actually broke out in a sweat which usually never happens. I felt like I gave it my all!! The judges seemed to be looking at me the majority of the time so I felt very confident I had placed in the top two.
2:30pm - 1 Xocai Healthy Chocolate Power Square and 8 oz water.
3:00pm - As I was walking back to the hotel room, the vascularity in my legs and arms was CRAZY. It must have been from the carbs in the dark chocolate. 2 Tsp Liquid K, 5g GL3, 5g Creatine, 500mg Vit B6, 1g Vitamin C, 3 L2 Tabs
3:30pm - 20 minute nap
4:00pm - Potato chips made from 7oz raw potato, 1 scoop VP2, 2 Tsp Liquid K
4:20pm - Ken, Sandy and I headed back to Sheldon High School
5:00pm - 2 Tsp Liquid K
5:30pm - 2oz cooked red beef
6:00pm - Potato chips made from 7oz raw potato, 1 scoop VP2, 2 Tsp Liquid K
7:00pm - Potato chips made from 7oz raw potato, 1 scoop VP2, 2 Tsp Liquid K
I was checking my legs in the mirror and I had vascularity in my inner thighs just standing relaxed.
8:00pm - 1/2 of my steamed Potato made from 7oz raw potato, 1 scoop VP2, 2 Tsp Liquid K. Increase water a little
8:30pm - Applied muscle sheen, had a few more potatos and my Xocai chocolate power square as I pumped up.
9:00pm - Headed on stage for the middle weight pose down. As I predicted, I was in the top two and felt very emotional when they annonced contestant #50 as placing second. That left yours truly as the winner of the middle weight class.
9:20pm - Ate a few more potatos and had some more water, continued pumping up.
9:30pm - Headed back on stage for the overall. Again the judges never moved me. Once the light weight winner and I were standing next to eachother in the middle of the lineup. They just kept working us. I never relaxed. As soon as they told us to relax, I would stand in the relaxed position and flex everything HARD. They turned us and turned us and I would squeeze and hold it. On the back poses I would grit my teeth and kind of growl under my breath, "More....more.....give me more......I gotta lot more"
I stood in the front relaxed pose, still flexing everything after the pose down. When they announced Alberto as the winner, I just felt the urge to give him a hug as he is such a great kid. I was disappointed, but at peace. I just walked off stage, grabbed my towel and headed back, content with my middleweight win and great performance for the overall
10:30pm - Midnight: I flooded my system with carbs from danishes, muffins, potato chips, my home made cheese burger, and a lemon cookie. I was bloated, but the vascularity in my arms and legs was even more porminant. Perhaps there was room for more carbs in there. Note to self.
